David Smull is an invasive general cardiologist with extensive experience in Advanced Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension.  He has been employed as a cardiologist with the Heart Center since September of 2024.  Prior to joining the Heart Center, he practiced for 5 years in Melbourne, Florida and for over 17 years in North Carolina.  He completed his IM residency at the Cleveland Clinic, his Cardiovascular Fellowship at Loyola, and an Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation fellowship at Columbia University in New York.

Stephanie Rives is an ANCC board-certified Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience.  She has worked as a registered nurse since 2005 and as a nurse practitioner since 2013, with her nursing and advanced practice careers focused exclusively on cardiology.

Throughout her career, Stephanie has practiced at Huntsville Hospital and the Heart Center. She has been recognized with an Advanced Practice Inspiring Excellence Award for her contributions to patient care and clinical practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
