Lincoln Health is part of the Huntsville Hospital Health System and comprises Lincoln Medical Center, Lincoln Health Ambulance Services, Donalson Care Center, Lincoln Medical Home Health & Hospice and Patrick Rehab & Wellness Center.

Lincoln Medical Center, a 49-bed hospital located in Fayetteville, Tennessee, is our primary location and offers a wide variety of emergency, inpatient and outpatient services for our community. Lincoln Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Our History

1917

Lincoln Medical Center began operation on North Elk Avenue on April 25, 1917 with 20 patient beds.

Early 1930s

Lincoln County purchased the Bryson College property and relocated the hospital.

1972

On September 1, Lincoln County established the Ambulance Service, at first providing only basic first aid services with nine full-time employees and two ambulances.

1973

All Ambulance Service employees had attained state-sanctioned EMT training, giving the citizens of Lincoln County basic life support service countywide for the first time in history.

1975

The county had its first three EMT-Paramedics, offering ALS (advanced life support) through the ambulance service, which had attained its official recognition as an emergency medical service (EMS).

1983

In November, the system established Lincoln Medical Home Health to answer the need for continued care after hospitalization.

1985

In April, the system opened the 37-bed Lincoln Skill Care Center, which is attached to Lincoln Care Center.

1989

The system opened Patrick Rehab-Wellness, a comprehensive facility encompassing outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies and a complete wellness program. Members of the wellness program enjoy the Olympic-size, heated lap pool, basketball court, track, aerobic area, weight rooms, exercise bicycles, and much more.

1990

In January, LMC Ambulance Service went from a C to an A classification, which requires at least 90% of all runs to be attended by a paramedic.

1992

Lincoln Medical Home Health became Lincoln Medical Home Health and Hospice by adding hospice care.

2001

On September 10, a new Lincoln Medical Center facility opened in the current location.

2013

LMC Ambulance Service earns recognition as the Tennessee Ambulance Service Association ALS Service of the Year

2022

LMC joined the Huntsville Hospital Health System in July of a year when several of our departments and programs earned recognitions and stellar surveys. Lincoln Home Health earned the honor of National Best Practice Agency, and our chest pain program earned Joint Commission recertification with no requirements for improvement. The LMC Emergency Medical Services program was surveyed with no recommendations for improvement. At the same time, our pharmacy department cleared its inspection with no findings by the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy’s Institutional Compliance.
